Lalu, Rabri not invited for tilak, marriage of Sadhu’s daughter

Patna,(BiharTimes): Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad and his wife Rabri Devi were not present at the Tilak ceremony of Sadhu Yadav’s daughter held at Etawah in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday as they were not invited by the latter.

Sadhu’s daughter Isha Yadav is to marry Rahul Yadav, son of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s niece, Sheela Yadav, on April 28. The wedding ceremony would be held in New Delhi. Lalu Yadav’s youngest daughter, Raj Lakshmi, is also married to the Samajwadi Party supremo’s grand nephew, Tej Pratap, who is also a party MP.

Isha and Rahul were students of Amity University in Noida and the engagement took place on February 26 in New Delhi. Lalu and Rabri were not invited in that function too.

The non-invitation to Lalu and Rabri further confirms how strain the relationship is within the family. Even bitter political rivals are invited to marriages. For example, Narendra Modi was invited both by Lalu Prasad and Mulayam Singh Yadav when Raj Lakshmi married Tej Pratap in February last year.

After deserting RJD Sadhu crossed over to the Congress and unsuccessfully contested Lok Sabha election on its ticket in 2009. But later he developed proximity with the BJP and in 2013 even went on to meet the then Gujarat CM, Narendra Modi.

However, his entry into the saffron party was stonewalled by some state BJP leaders. But this was only for public consumption as Sadhu continues to rub shoulders with the BJP rank and file.
