10 SHOs suspended for not strictly enforcing prohibition law

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar government has suspended 10 station house officers (SHOs) on the charge of not enforcing prohibition law effectively in their respective area of their jurisdiction.


The suspended police officers are of Masaurhi (Patna), Dehri-on-Sone(Rohtas), Makhdumpur (Jehanabad), Chand (Kaimur), Sultanganj(Bhagalpur), Mufassil (Motihari), Runni Saidpur and Bairganiya (bothin Sitamarhi) and Maranga and Rupauli (both in Purnea).

The police headquarters has also announced that the suspended officers would not be posted as SHO for next 10 years.


In all over 4,700 people were arrested for violation of prohibition law ever since Bihar was declared dry on April 5, exactly four months back.
