Rashmi Agarwal alias Sparsh, daughter of Bhanu Agarwal, a petrol pump owner in Kursela, and a student of Class-I, was returning from NBR Brilliant School along with other children at around 2.30pm in school bus.

Reports said that two criminals stopped the bus and forcibly took her away.

According to Katihar Sadar SDPO Lal Babu Prasad  one of the two kidnappers has been identified as Mithun Paswan, who was  earlier the driver of the same school.

He also said the bus driver Mukesh Mishra, who knows Mithun, tried to prevent abduction. But before he could do anything, the two fled from the spot with the girl on a bike.

The SDPO also said that the two shifted Rashmi into an SUV some four kilometer from the spot from where she was lifted. They abandoned the bike there.

Mukesh rushed back to school after the incident and informed its management.  The latter informed Rashmi’s parents and police were informed.

The father has lodged an FIR with police and search is on to recover the girl and arrest the criminals.

The police have recovered the SUV.
