Process to impose collective fine on Nalanda village starts

 


Patna,(BiharTimes):  Days after the passing of stringent excise law by the Bihar Assembly the district administration of Nalanda has started the process to impose a collective fine of Rs 5,000 on all the 50 households of Kailashpuri village under Islampur block for violating the prohibition law.

According to the district magistrate Tyagrajan S M the process has been initiated to impose collective fine following recovery of liquor bottles in the village.

Reports said that a group of people continued to violate the law in spite of repeated warnings.

The district administration has also initiated the process to confiscate assets of three hotels from where liquor bottles were found, the district magistrate said.

As per the law, there is a provision to impose a fine of upto Rs one lakh if the law is violated.
