Juvenile Justice Board notices to officials probing minor Ruby Rai case
Patna,(BiharTimes): The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) on Wednesday issued notices to officials probing the toppers’ scm to reply why the
Inter Arts ‘topper’ Ruby Rai was treated as an adult even though the
police had every documentary proof of her age, that is below 18.
The Board slapped the notice after former Inter Arts topper's lawyer
Krishna Deo Mishra filed a petition before the JJB on Wednesday.
Along with the IG and Special Investigation Team, the juvenile welfare
officer of Kotwali police station, that is, the SHO, special juvenile
police unit (SJPU) working under the IG (Weaker section) and district
child protection unit have also been made parties in the petition.
According to Krishna Deo Mishra the SIT of Patna police also violated
the laws by not giving details of the juvenile’s age to the vigilance
court, which bound the judge to send her to a prison for adults.
