Danapur BJP leader  killed six months after son’s love marriage

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): BJP state executive committee member Ashok Jaiswal (55) was shot dead by unidentified criminals in front of his house at Gola Road under Danapur police station area on Wednesday evening.

The Danapur unit of BJP is observing Danapur shutdown (bandh) on Thursday.

According to Amar Jaiswal, elder brother of Ashok Jaiswal, who had unsuccessfully contested the 2010 election from Danapur Assembly constituency, had been receiving threat from the girl's side ever since his son had love marriage about six months ago. He had lodged a complaint with Danapur police station in this regard.

 


Reports said the assailants pumped four bullets in the body of Jaiswal.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Danapur, Rajesh Kumar, said two persons have been taken into custody in connection with the killing.

Union Minister of State Ram Kripal Yadav, rushed to the home of the deceased immediately after the killing.

He and other BJP leaders tried to downplay the love marriage angle and held the poor law and order as the factor responsible for the killing.

Along with Ram Kripal, who is also the local MP, Danapur MLA of the party Asha Devi and Digha MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia took to the streets on Wednesday evening itself.

The BJP leaders and workers also stopped road traffic on Thursday in protest against the killing.
