Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar government on Thursday suspended all the 25 policemen of Town Police Station, Gopalganj, including its Station House Officer, following the death of 18 people after consuming spurious liquor.

They took liquor on Independence Day evening, but the first death was reported a day later. The toll continued to rise with two more dying on Thursday.

Reports said that the illegal liquor unit had been running at Khajurwani village under the jurisdiction of Town Police Station.

According to Director General of Police P K Thakur FIRs have been registered against 14 people in two different cases. Six persons have so far been arrested and a massive man-hunt is on to nab the main culprits.
