Nitish shielding Gopalganj SP at the behest of Lalu: SuMo
Patna,(BiharTimes): Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi has charged the state government with shielding the superintendent of police of Gopalganj and taking action only against the lower functionaries as the district is the home turf of RJD chief, Lalu Prasad.
Talking to the media after visiting Khajurwani village in Gopalganj and meeting the family members of those who lost their lives on Friday he said the Nitish Kumar government is shielding Gopalganj SP Ravi Ranjan Kumar, as he was posted in the district on the recommendation of RJD president Lalu Prasad.
According to SuMo all the 25 police personnel of Town Police Station were sacrificed as pawns to protect the SP and Sadar DSP.
The BJP leader alleged that everyone in Gopalganj was aware that Khajurwani had always been a hub of illicit liquor manufacturing.
He claimed that the actual death toll is 22, but a few victims were sent to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.
