Tejaswi lands in flooded Raghopur after trip to Europe

Patna,(BiharTimes): When Bihar’s deputy chief minister Tejaswi Yadav reached Raghopur, his Assembly constituency, a week after the flood hit it, he had a difficult time convincing the people that he could not come before as he was on a three-week trip to Europe.

There was no dearth of flood victims who complained of inadequate relief and rescue works.

Tejaswi, who returned to Patna only on Thursday, went to his constituency on Friday. Before that his father and RJD chief Lalu Prasad––and at least once even his elder brother and health minister Tej Pratap Yadav––took care of the constituency.

But that was not enough.

The deputy CM went to Europe when Bihar was in the grip of drought-like situation. He returned to find a large part of the state neck deep in troubled water with opposition politicians fishing in it.

Though the water of Ganga crossed 1975 and 1994 marks the impact of devastation was not so much as 41 years ago, when a much larger part of Patna, especially its western and southern part, was inundated.

Apart from Raghopur, the two other Assembly constituencies facing flood in the vicinity of Patna are Maner and Danapur. Both these two places got relatively better attention than elsewhere for obvious political reasons.

Lalu took personal interest in them, so did Union minister Ram Kripal Yadav, who represents Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency in Lok Sabha.

After all Lalu’s daughter unsuccessfully contested from here. Dad took personal interest as his ‘samdhiana’ (daughter Misa Bharati’s in-laws place falls in Danapur). She herself was in Delhi.
