State Grand Alliance chiefs differ on PM candidate, but agree on NaMo’s non-performance

Patna,(BiharTimes): State presidents of the Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Janata Dal (United) have different views on the prime ministerial candidate for the year 2019. But they agree on the issue of non-performance of the Narendra aModi government.

This was evident in the joint Press conference held by Ashok Chaudhary, Ram Chandra Purvey and Bashistha Narayan Singh on Sunday.

While Purvey said that his party had so far not decided on the issue of prime ministerial candidate Bashistha Narayan Singh said 2019 9 is too far away. He further said the JD(U) would decide on the PM candidate before the next Lok Sabha election.

Purvey also said that the national presidents of different parties of the Grand Alliance would take a call on the issue at an appropriate time.

But  it was Ashok Chaudhary, who while replying to a newsmen’squery made it clear that only Rahul Gandhi would be his party’s candidate. He said that he had been saying so in the past too.

Incidentally, this was the first joint Press conference held after the 2015 Assembly election.

It was held at the state RJD headquarters.

However, on other issues the three party leaders showed complete unity, especially in their criticism of prime minister Narendra Modi.

Purvey, in particular, was scathing in his criticism. He claimed that the country is heading for economic crisis and charged Modi with not fulfilling any of his poll promises.
