Parched Gaya cries for water ahead Pitripaksha

Gaya,(BiharTimes):  When the Gaya  district administration is bracing up for Pitipaksha mela with all sorts of advertisement campaign, a large part of the city is facing serious water crisis  for last more than 15 days.

“We are facing water woes after failure of supply water for a fortnight in this sultry hot weather,” said Uday Narain Singh, a senior citizen of Panchayati Akhara area of the town.

“You can understand the hardship of elderly people like me and of woman residing alone in these areas,” Singh told BiharTimes.

Incidentally, all these affected localities are situated on the bank of fiver Falgu.

“Soon we are going to start a fresh agitation as it is too much. No one can imagine that government agencies are so slack in spite of the fact that water is the basic necessity,” Kumar added.

When this reporter called district administration control room the person sitting on other side said people should lodge a written complain? When the reporter reminded him that it is e- samadhan and this interaction is going to be recorded he simply said “we will refer this matter to concerned agencies.”

Local people said that the worst is yet to come as Pitripaksha mela is to start next month. “What will happen when about half a million moe people would come here in the next few days,” one of them asked.
