Grand Alliance stages mega sit-in to protest against bungled demonetization

Patna,(BiharTimes): The JD (U), RJD and Congress legislators on Friday put up a united face when they sat on a maha-dharna (mega sit-in) in the state Assembly premises to demand the return of all black money from abroad and distribution of Rs 15 lakh to every citizen of the country.

The three constituents of the Grand Alliance were not so averse to the demonetization as such––as JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar has a different take on it––yet they all were critical on the way it has been implemented causing immense hardship to the people.

In fact they adopted a resolution supporting the demonetization. The decision to stage such a united show was reportedly taken by JD(U) president and RJD chief Lalu Prasad when the former met the latter at his residence on November 28 evening.

Political observers are of the view that out of two leaders Nitish had to make a major climdown and had to realize that there is utter chaos all over the country following cash crunch caused by the haphazard way of demonetization.

Only three days back RJD supported Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s sit in while JD(U) abstained from it.
Later JD(U) Rajya Sabha MP Harivansh alleged that there is a sizeable amount of blackmoney in Bengal and also hinted at Saradha scam.

But now it seems that the JD(U) has changed its stand. Its former president Sharad Yadav is again attending opposition meetings in Parliament after skipping tow such meetings on Monday and Tuesdaymornings
