Nitish expresses surprise over BJP’s silence on pre-demonetization land purchase

Patna,(BiharTimes): Expressing surprise over the Bharatiya Janata Party’s silence Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday asked the saffron party to respond to the questions being raised on large-scale purchase of land by it in the state just ahead of demonetization.

Talking to the media after his first Lok Samvad (Public Interaction) programme in Patna on Monday he said his party, Janata Dal (United), has raised questions on the large-scale purchase of land by the BJP in various districts of Bihar a few days before the demonetization. If questions are being raised, the BJP should reply.

The JD(U) national president also said Bihar government’s registration department would look into the matter, if it was brought into the notice of the state government.

Nitish said the matter has so far not been brought as a complaint at government level. If it comes at the government level, the registration department would look into it.

While he was replying to the questions of the mediapersons the registration, excise and prohibition minister Abdul Jalil Mastan, who is actually a Congressman, was sitting beside him. The latter had, a couple of days back, said that the registration department had called for documents to probe the land purchases.

Stating that the BJP should answer how it got money and from where it brought it to buy so much land Nitish expressed surprise that the BJP was not furnishing answers on the matter.
