Usha Sinha walks out of jail; but when and how?

Patna,(BiharTimes): The news is that former JD (U) MLA and one of the prime accused in BSEB toppers’ scam case, Usha Sinha, is out of jail. But the mystery remains as to how and when she walked out and whogranted bail?

While some reports suggest that she was granted bail by the special court of vigilance-I judge Raghvendra Kumar Singh on humanitarian grounds and walked out of Beur Central Jail on December 1 other reports said that she got bail from the Pana high court.

What is more surprising is that if she really got the bail why could not it be known to any mediapersons in the state. It could be known only on Sunday.

According to superintendent, Beur Central Jail, Rupak Kumar she was granted bail by the high court three days ago. “As we got the bail papers, the Beur Jail administration released her on the same day,” he was quoted in another report.

Usha and her husband Bihar School Examination Board’s  ex-chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, were arrested from Varanasi on June 20. They have been accused of tampering with examination copies and evaluation process.

On June 21, a civil court in Patna rejected an interim bail plea of the couple. Her release is being seen as a setback for the prosecution. Earlier on October 29, the vigilance court, while rejecting her bail had said that “the accused petitioner Usha Sinha being a woman aged about 62 years coming in purview of first proviso of Section 437 of CrPC, may renew her bail after framing of charges or after one month
which may occur first.” Thus Usha renewed her bail petition after a month on November 30 and got bail.
