BJP’s PAN not used in 10 out of 31 land deals made before demonetization: JD(U)
Patna,(BiharTimes): The Janata Dal (United) on Monday claimed that the
Bharatiya Janata Party’s PAN was not used in 10 out of 31 land deals
made before demonetization on November 8.
Releasing a list of 10 purchases of land in which the personal PANs of
three BJP legislators, Lalbabu Prasad, Sanjiv Chaurasia and Dilip
Kumar Jaiswal, were used JD(U) national general secretary Shyam Rajak
and state spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said senior Bihar BJP leaders,
like former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi and Leader of the Opposition
in the Assembly Prem Kumar, had claimed that land in different
districts was purchased by the BJP on the instructions of party
national president Amit Shah using party funds.
If these claims are to be believed, then the BJP legislators should
not have used their own PAN cards to make the purchases. Was the use
of their own PAN cards aimed at committing financial irregularity? the
JD(U) leaders asked.
They also alleged that BJP MLC Lalbabu Prasad’s personal PAN was used
for six land deals––one each in Motihari, Bagaha, Sasaram and
Sheikhpura and two in Siwan.
Chourasia’s PAN card was used for three land purchase––two in Arwal
and one in Muzaffarpur while Jaiswal’s was used for purchase, in
Supaul.
The ruling party of Bihar said the use of personal PANs by the BJP
legislators exposed the intention. Had they used the BJP’s PAN the
party would have been required to explain to the income-tax
authorities the source of the cash it used to make 31 land purchase in
Bihar just ahead of demonetization.
