Patna,(BiharTimes): After the expiry of 24 hours deadline given to the BJP to respond Janata Dal (United on Friday wrote to the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Patna Circle, Syed Tariq Ahmad, demanding an inquiry into the acts of omissions and commissions of the Bharatiya Janata Party in purchase of land in 31 districts of Bihar just prior to the demonetization on November 8.

Talking to the media at Patna, JD(U) spokespersons Sanjay Singh, Neeraj Kumar, and Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said that the party had submitted a list of 31 plots of land purchased by the BJP in the state just before demonetisation.

It points out a series of discrepancies in the purchase deeds. While some payments were made by the BJP through RTGS, as claimed by it, several payments were paid by it in cash and acknowledged as such.

The letter went on to allege, several purchase deeds make no mention of the mode of payment. There were also discrepancies in the PAN numbers submitted to the authorities and the payments made by people, who in some cases seemed to be different people.

Earlier, on Thursday the JD (U) gave a 24 hours to the BJP asking it to reveal the source of money it used to purchase land in 31 districts of Bihar just before November 8 demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.

The same three spokespersons accused the BJP of purchasing land with black money to build party offices in various districts, not only of Bihar but in other states too.
