BJP land deal: JD(U) to move Income Tax dept after 24 hours

Patna,(BiharTimes): The JD (U) has decided to move Income Tax department after 24 hours requesting it to ask the BJP to reveal the source of money the saffron party used to purchase land in 31 districts of Bihar just before November 8 demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.

The three ruling parties of Grand Alliance–– JD (U), RJD and Congress–– have repeatedly accused the BJP of purchasing land with black money to build party offices in various districts, not only of Bihar but in other states too.

In Bihar they were purchased between August and November 5, that is just three days prior to PM’s announcement to scrap notes of high values.

The joint statement issued by the Janata Dal (United) spokesmen Sanjay Singh, Neeraj Kumar and Ranjiv Ranjan Prasad, said it would move the Income Tax department under Section 133 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, to reveal the source of income from which the land has been bought the land in the next 24 hours.

The land deal has certainly landed the BJP in an embarrassing position as save former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi no other leaders are in position to speak much on the issue.

They reiterated that the BJP did not use the party’s PAN card to purchase the land. This proves that the aim was to convert black money into white just before demonetisation.
