Deaths due to accident have come down by 31 per cent after prohibition: Nitish





Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday claimed that deaths due to accident have come down by 31 per cent in the first eight months of prohibition in Bihar.

Addressing Chetna Rally in Bihar he said that road accidents have come down by 19 per cent since April 5, when total liquor ban was imposed in the state.

The chief minister once again hailed the Supreme Court order prohibiting sale of liquor within 500 metres of National and state and State Highways.

Without taking the name of opposition BJP he said the apex court ruling had silenced critics of prohibition in the state.

The chief minister reiterated prohibition  had allowed people to spend on items like milk, sweets, clothes and furniture which.
