JD(U) keeps away from Rahul’s show,, RJD participates

Patna,(BiharTimes): Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday stayed away from the meeting of opposition parties called by the Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi.

The meeting was called after Rahul alleged that prime minister Narendra Modi received kickbacks from Sahara group.

The Janata Dal (United) pleaded that it was not informed about the agenda of the meeting nor was anyone taken into confidence.

On Monday, that is a day before the meet party’s general secretary K C Tyagi demanded that the entire list of those who got money from Sahara be made public and all the persons named in the diaries be questioned.

The name in the list included Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh CMs Raman Singh and Shivraj Singh Chouhan respectively and former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dixit.

Against the stand of Janata Dal (United) alliance partner Rashtriya Janata Dal took part in the meeting. Its supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav had already backed Rahul on the issue.

Manoj Jha, the spokesman of RJD, took a dig at a section of media for playing into the hand of the BJP. He said it is understandable for the BJP to feel panicky, but why it is that the media is working for it and projecting the non-participation in the meeting as a rift. “Why is a section of media engaged in such a campaign. It is not necessary for all the opposition parties to be on the same page on all the issues,” he told media.
