JD(U) announces new state executive committee

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): The new state executive committee of Janata Dal (United) headed by state party chief Bashisth Narayan Singh, will have one treasurer, 11 vice presidents, 14 general secretaries, seven spokespersons, and 15 organisational secretaries.

Making this announcement on Sunday Bashisth Narayan Singh said that the list of executive committee which will have 61 members, includes the name of chief minister Nitish Kumar and all his the JD (U) ministers––Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Shrawan Kumar, Jai Kumar Singh, Krishnandan Prasad Verma, Maheshwar Hazari, Sailesh Kumar, Santosh Kumar Nirala, Khurshid alias Firoz Ahmad, Madan Sahni, Kapildeo Kamat and Kumari Manju Verma.

The committee also includes senior MPs and MLAs of the party and almost all prominent leaders who failed to win election or become a minister in the Nitish cabinet. They include former speaker of Bihar Assembly Uday Narayan Choudhary, former ministers P K Sahi, Lesi Singh, Ranju Geeta, Damodar Raut and Manoj Kushwaha.

Besides, the party also released the list of 51 district presidents, 30 of them new faces. The party has appointed Kanchan Gupta as its women cell president.

The executive committee will meet on February 14 and finalise the date and schedule for organisational elections.
