Patna,(BiharTimes): Nawada MLA of RJD Raj Ballabh Yadav is on the run after the DIG Shalin has issued order to arrest him following the charge of rape levelled against him by a teenaged girl. Raids were carried on at the house of Raj Ballabhh in Nawada on Saturday

According to Shalin the incident took place on February 6 while the FIR was lodged on February 9. He said that prima facie the charge levelled by the victim is true. She had identified the MLA and the place where the incident took place.

The statement of the girl has been taken under section 164 of IPC and an FIR in the case was lodged against Yadav with Women police station, Nalanda, on February 9, he said.

The girl had identified the accused MLA when his photograph was shown to her and later she identified him in person also, the DIG said.

"Police have begun investigation in the case and action would be taken against Yadav on the basis of the victim's statement. She has identified the place and him (Yadav)," Shalin said.

According to the police complaint filed by the girl, on February 6, a woman named Sulekha Devi took her to an undisclosed location in Nalanda and forced her to have liquor, after which she was raped by a man, later identified as Yadav.

After she was raped, the girl said the woman gave her Rs.30,000.

She then went home and spoke about the incident to her parents who approached police

Yadav won from Nawada seat on RJD ticket in the recent Assembly election and has previously served as a minister in the RJD government.
