Why BJP leaders meet those Kashmiris who oppose hanging of Afzal Guru, asks Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): Turning the heat on the Bharatiya Janata Party Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday asked as to what had prompted the BJP bigwigs to meet those leaders of Jammu and Kashmir, who openly opposed the hanging of Afzal Guru.

“Is not it that Ram Madhav met them?” questioned Nitish, while hitting out at the BJP for joining hands with the same forces for the sake of power.

Stating that RSS and ABVP are out to destroy the country he said that all these issues are being raised to distract the attention from the poor condition of country’s economy.

Nitish said that attempts are on to destroy the character of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
He strongly slammed the arrest of the president of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU), Kanhaiya Kumar Singh. He is from Begusarai in Bihar.

The Centre is trying to strangulate democracy. He questioned as to how the home minister of the country say that the teachers and students of the JNU have links with Hafiz Saeed of Pakistan. Has he any proof?

“To say that CPI and CPI (M) are anti-national is unacceptable. We can have differences with them. But to arrest Kanhaiya for sedition is too much,” the Bihar chief minister said.
Speaking on the sidelights of Janata Darbar he lamented that people like Nathuram Godse are being glorifed and the BJP leaders are openly attending such functions. No action is being taken against anyone.

He said the JNU is a renowned university where debates and discussions on all issues take place openly. There are students and faculty members who are known for free thinking. One can not charge them with sedition.
