Nalanda Court orders attachment of Raj Ballabh’s property

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Additional District and Sessions Judge of Nalanda, Rashmi Shikha, on Saturday ordered the attachment of the property of fugitive RJD MLA from Nawada, Raj Ballabh Prasad Yadav.

The lawmaker is the main accuse in a minor rape case. The victim, a schoolgirl from Nalanda district was alleged to be raped at Pathra Englishpar village home of MLA in Nawada district on February 6.

Earlier, on February 22 the court of Rashmi Shikha put the property attachment of the MLA on hold and directed the police to put notices on his residences, asking him to surrender within 30 days.

But now equipped with a confessional statement of co-accused Sulekha Devi––who allegedly forced the girl into sex with Raj Ballabh––police moved the ADJ court again on Saturday.

Sulekha, her mother Radha Devi and daughter Chhoti Kumari were arrested on Feb 25. Sulekha’s cousin Tulsi Devi and one Moti Ram, in whose house they had been hiding, and who too were arrested, were also remanded in judicial custody on February 25.

The court also directed police to submit the case diary of Sulekha’s son-in-law, Sumeet Kumar, who was arrested on February 22 on the charge of withholding the whereabouts of his mother-in-law and other accused. The court gave the directive in response to a bail petition of Sumeet.
