Rabri, Raghuvansh likely to be sent to RS, Misa not

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former chief minister Rabri Devi and former Union minister for rural development Raghuvansh Prasad Singh are among the three candidates from RJD who are likely to be nominated for the Rajya Sabha.
Against the earlier media speculation Misa Bharati, the eldest daughter of Lalu Praad and Rabri Devi, may not be nominated. In that case she will have to either wait till 2018 biennial election for the Upper House or 2019 Lok Sabha election, which she unsuccessfully contested from Patliputra in 2014.
If Raghuvansh is sent to Rajya Sabha it would be a bit surprising as he had indulged in some plain-speaking against the present state government, especially over its failure in law and order front and in not sending the report of drought to the Centre.
Though five JD(U) Rajya Sabha MPs are to retire later this month the party may get only one nomination while the BJP is likely to get fifth.
If Rabri becomes Rajya Sabha MP––as she is likely to––she would be entitled to a sprawling bungalow in Delhi due to her status as the former state chief minister.
Political observers are of the view that in normal course the RJD and JD(U) should have shared two seats each in the Rajya Sabha elections this year, while the BJP would bag one.
However, RJD insiders said that Lalu had told JD(U) leadership that his party would return the equation in its favour in 2018.
