Kolkata, Jan 9 (IANS) Accusing the BCCI of attempting to subvert the recommendations of the Lodha Committee, Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) secretary Aditya Verma on Saturday said he will move the Supreme Court over the issue.

With a BCCI ad-hoc committee comprising KVP Rao and Ratnakar Shetty holding a meeting with officials of the unrecognized CAB, Verma said the meeting was in contravention of the Lodha Committee recommendations.

"Without considering the fact that the Lodha Committee report has been placed before the Supreme Court, and without awaiting the directions and orders of the court, the BCCI ad-hoc committee is meeting the CAB president Abdul Bari Siddiqui and other members.

"Why the BCCI is meeting with the present president and others IAS/IPS officers and the Bihar sports minister when the Lodha Committee has recommended a bar on serving officials and serving ministers from heading cricket associations," said Verma.

"This is a matter of grave concern as it seems to be an attempt to subvert the recommendations of the Lodha Committee and to avert any direction by the Supreme Court," said Verma whose public interest litigation eventually led to the court constituting the panel.

The R.M. Lodha Committee Monday made a host of far-reaching recommendations to improve cricket administration in the country, including restructuring the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and legalising betting.

Charging the BCCI with meting out step-motherly treatment to the CAB, Verma said he will be moving the Supreme Court to apprise it of the board's attempt to subvert the Lodha panel recommendations.
