Patna,(BiharTimes): By-election for Harlakhi Assembly seat in Madhubani district is scheduled to be held on February 13 while counting of votes will be held on February 16. The seat fell vacant after the death of Basant Kumar of Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) on November 30, 2015, a few hours before the newly-elected members were to take oath.
By-election for one seat of Bihar Legislative Council would be held on February 11. The seat felt vacant after former minister Bhim Singh resigned on October 23, 2015. His term was due to end on May 6, 2018.
According to the announcement made by the Election Commission of India on Monday the notification for the bypoll will be issued on January 25 while the last date for filing nomination is February 1. The scrutiny of nomination will be done on February 2 and candidates can withdraw till February 4.
Members of the Legislative Assembly will cast their votes from 9 AM to 4 PM on February 11 and counting would start from 5:00 PM on the same day.
