Patna,(BiharTimes): Search is reportedly on for new vice chancellor of Nalanda University in place of Gopa Sabharwal, whose term ended in November last.
In October last, the Governing Board (GB) had given an extension of one year or till the appointment of the next vice-chancellor, as per the Nalanda University Act 2010.
According to reports from New Delhi the next GB meeting of Nalanda University is scheduled to be held at Rajgir on January 29-30. It will also decide on the composition of the next GB.
Reports also said that the GB would be asked to set up a search committee, which would propose three names for consideration to President Pranab Mukherjee, who is the Visitor to the University. This process should not take more than three months.
