Court orders closure of another case against Lalu

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): Judicial Magistrate Gayatri Kumari on Wednesday ordered closure of a case against RJD chief Lalu Prasad registered against him with Parsa Bazar police station in Patna district on April 5, 2014 on the eve of Lok Sabha election.


The charge sheet in this case was filed on May 27, 2015.


The court order came on the request of the Public Prosecutor.


Only on January 19 Chief Judicial Magistrate of Patna ordered the closure of a case against Lalu Prasad, his two sons and a large number of RJD supporters.


The FIR was lodged on the basis of the statement of Circle Officer of Phulwarisharif Sunita Prasad in connection with preventing a photographer deployed by her to shoot the roadshow of Lalu during election campaign in Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency.


Lalu’s eldest daughter Misa Bharti had unsuccessfully contested from Patliputra seat in 2014 election against Ram Kripal Yadav of the BJP.


The FIR was registered under Section 171F (Punishment for undue influence or personation at an election), 186 (Obstructing public servant in discharge of public function) and 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of Indian Penal Code.
