IMA on warpath after doctor assaulted by RJD MLA’s son

 


 

Patna,(BiharTimes): Doctors of the state are on warpath following an attack on one of their fraternity members by the son of an RJD MLA in Gaya district.

On Wednesday they met Chief Secretary and on Thursday Director General of Police to seek protection after increase in attack on the medical fraternity.

According to reports from Gaya district Ranjit Yadav, the son of RJD MLA from Attari, Kunti Devi, allegedly threw wheel-chair on the doctor in Neemchak-Bathaini government hospital.

Ranjit allegedly barged into the hospital and threw wheel chair on Dr Satyendra Kumar. He was reportedly drunk.

Ranjit is an accused in the murder of a Janata Dal (United) leader and has been absconding.

Doctors of Gaya staged protest on Thursday to highlight the incident. They sought protection from the district administration. The Indian Medical Association is going to take up the issue at the state level.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav, on Thursday strongly condemned the incident and reiterated the allegation that Jungle Raj has returned to Bihar and chief minister Nitish Kumar is looking helpless.

On the other hand the Janata Dal (United) spokesman hinted at strong action against the person involved in the incident. He said that if an MLA can be arrested why not anyone else. Law will take its own course in the Nitish Kumar government, he added.
