It turned out to be ‘love and order’ story

Patna (BiharTimes): It turned out to be ‘love and order’ story.
The kidnapping case lodged by the father of Nidhi against the Congress MLA from Bikram in Bihar took a new twist on Friday afternoon with the girl appearing before the SSP of Patna Manu Maharaj, to claim that the driver of the legislator, Pankaj, and she had got married. Pankaj, who also accompanied her, produced the marriage certificate.

The girl charged her own father, Abhay Singh, with intimidating her and Pankaj and said that they married on their own will. She said that the Congress MLA, Siddharth Singh, has absolutely nothing to do with this incident and accused her father of falsely implicating the latter.

Though their appearance before the SSP has apparently brought to an end the story of kidnapping––which hogged the limelight for two days––the trouble for the state government is not over as the son of another MLA, Kunti Devi of RJD, has been charged with assaulting a doctor in a government hospital in Gaya district.

The case involving Ranjit Yadav, the MLA’s son, came close on the heels of several such incidents in which the names of elected representatives of the ruling grand alliance, especially the Janata Dal (United), figured.

The BJP was quick to come up with the ‘return of Jungle Raj’ refrain while the leaders of grand alliance partners were scampered for cover as they were unable to answer media’s barrage. But Nidhi’s statement before the police as well as the media came as a sigh of relief for them, especially the Congress.

As Siddharth’s life-story is somewhat different the recent incident involving him generated a lot of interest. He is the son of a renowned doctor of Patna and had served jail term as he was involved in the murder of his own class-mate about two decades back. The deceased was the grandson of the then judge of Supreme Court of India. They both were students of Intermediate in Patna College and love affair is said to be the reason behind the murder. I

He got released in 2009 after completing his jail term and got ticket for the Assembly election from Ram Vilas Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party, which he lost.

He switched over to the Congress and got the ticket of the party. He won by a huge margin of approximately 44,000 votes.

He is now a married man and a father of two kids but mentioned Not Applicable in marital staus column in his election affidevit .
