RJD, JD(U) flay Modi govt’s move on Uniform Civil Code

Patna,(BiharTimes): Rashtriya Janata Dal and Janata Dal (United) have criticized the Centre’s move to ask the Law Commission to examine the implications of implementing the Uniform Civil Code across the country.

Deputy chief minister Tejaswi Yadav dubbed it as an old tactic applied by the BJP to fool people ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

They (the BJP people) start making such promises every time the elections are round the corner, he said adding if they want to apply the Uniform Civil Code, they should first apply that in Jammu and Kashmir as they are in power there.

On the other hand former minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Shyam Rajak called it as a dangerous move of the saffron party. He said the agenda of RSS should be strongly opposed.

According to Tejaswi it is just the BJP’s tactics to spread rumour among people as per their agenda. Their ideology is based on hypocrisy.

As reported Union Law Minister Sadananda Gowda had said that he had repeatedly received questions about the issue of Uniform Civil Code in the Parliament, following which he has asked the Law Commission to give him a report in this regard.
