Bihar to have a time-bound clearance window for investors

Patna,(BiharTimes): For the first time Bihar will have a time-bound clearance window for investors. An amendment will be made in legislation in the Monsoon Session of the Assembly, which starts from July 29.

According to industries minister Jai Kumar Singh it would be a completely new single window system for Bihar. All the necessary preparations have been made.

He said that it has been decided that all the clearance an investor needs to start unit in Bihar should be provided within 15 days. If at all it is delayed, it would be automatically assumed that the department has provided its clearance and the investor would not be harassed or troubled.

As per the industrial policy of 2006 investors had to approach a single window system before starting a unit in Bihar. But it remained just on paper. Now, it is expected to change

It should be mentioned that to start an industrial unit, an investor needs 19 no-objection certificates (NOCs) and approvals from the state government. The most prominent of these are NOCs from the pollution control board, the public health and engineering department, fire safety, building construction, labour and electricity departments.

The amendment is being made because investors often complained that they had to run from one department to another for the different clearances.
