Cabinet nod to changed BPSC Civil Services exam pattern

 


 

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Nitish Kumar cabinet on Tuesday gave its nod to change the structure of the Civil Service examination conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).

Now there will be only one optional subject––instead of two––for the main examination. It will be of 300 marks. The General Studies would be of 600 marks––two papers of 300 marks each. At present it is of 400 marks––two papers of 200 marks each.

The total marks for the main examination would be now 1020 marks instead of existing 1350.

According to the principal secretary cabinet secretariat department Brajesh Mehrotra there would be no change for the existing pattern of preliminary test of 150 marks. The written examination would now be conducted for 900 marks against the 1,200 marks at present.

 

The interview would be of 120 marks against 150 at present.

Incidentally, the main examination of 55 to 59 BPSC is underway. It started on July 8 and would last till the end of the month.

There would be no change in the examination pattern of General Hindi paper, which the candidates would have to write in three hours for 100 marks. Candidates would have to score at least 30 per cent of qualifying marks.
