ASI commits suicide in Bihar’s Bhojpur district

Patna,(BiharTimes: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police posted in Bhojpur district committed suicideinside the police station on Friday morning.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Kshatraneel Singh the ASI, Om Prakash Paswan, posted at Krishnagarh police station of the district, shot himself in the head from his own service revolver, inside his room within the police station premises. He breathed his last while being taken to hospital.

Though the reason could not be ascertained yet, the SP said, the matter was being investigated. Paswan hailed from Munger district Meanwhile, the president of Bihar Police Association, Mritunjay Singh, has demanded thorough probe into the circumstances which compelled Paswan to take this extreme step. He said that junior officers are working under tremendous pressure. He talked to the SP over this case.
