Patna,(BiharTimes): Special vigilance Judge Raghwendra Kumar Singh on Friday rejected the regular bail petition of suspended Mohania SDO and 2013 batch IAS officer Dr Jitendra Gupta.He was arrested on the intervening night of July 12-13 on charge of accepting Rs 80,000 from a truck driver.

His counsel Janardan Rai pleaded that his client was innocent, and that the vigilance police had not recover any bribe money from his possession. He told the court that Dr Gupta had not demanded bribe nor any document was found in his possession.

"It is a doubtful case. The accused  is ready to cooperate with the investigating officer," the counsel said. Incidentally, former minister and former advocate general of the state, P K  Shahi also represented Dr Gupta. He told the court that the purpose of the police would not be served if Gupta remains injail.
