Patna,(BiharTimes): After being stripped off the Science topper position in the Class-12 Bihar School Examination Board examination, Saurabh Shrestha has threatened to commit suicide if he is excessively cross-examined.

The BSEB on Saturday cancelled the result of Saurabh and another rank holder, Rahul Kumar, from the Science stream after their performance was not found up to mark in a hurriedly called re-test of 14 rank holders. However, the Arts topper Ruby Rai did not appear in that re-test cum interview held on June 3.

The rest 11 toppers who had appeared for written test as well as interview before an expert team have been given clean chit as their performance, according to the Board, was ‘excellent’.

Ruby Rai, who could not appear for re-test on Friday on health ground has been given a week’s time to come before a team of experts for authentication of her marks. She will have to appear for re-test on June 11.

Saurabh’s threat to commit suicide has given a new twist to the entire episode as many academics and legal experts have started questioning the whole exercise. How can one’s failure to answer questions before a television channel be taken so seriously? Will it stand judicial scrutiny?
