Bihar NDA leaders clash with Patna police over law & order situation

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): A day after chief minister Nitish Kumar claimed that there is a sharp fall in the incidents of crime after the imposition of probibition NDA leaders clashed with the police on the streets of Patna in protest against what they allege deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Prem Kumar, state BJP President Mangal Pandey, MLAs Arun Sinha and Sanjeev Chaurasia were among the state BJP bigwigs who took part in the march, which was also attended by HAM leaders Jitan Ram Manjhi and Brishen Patel and RLSP MP, Arun Kumar.

They were all taken into custody by the police which used water cannon on the protestors when they tried to break the barricade near JP roundabout on way to Raj Bhawan.

The march started from Kargil Chowk.

The Patna High Court had sometimes back banned the entry of any march into this zone.

However, the BJP, in a statement alleged that police lathicharged the NDA workers to create fear among them.

Earlier, addressing the protestors, Prem Kumar charged the Nitish Kumar government with working under the shelter of criminals. He also referred to the attack on former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Manjhi said that people were living in fear in the state. If people like him is not safe than what could be said about the safety of the ordinary citizens.

Rashtriya Lok Samata Party state president and Jehanabad MP Arun Kumar said Nitish Kumar is touring other states while people in Bihar are falling victim to criminals.
