Lalkeshwar’s appointment as BSEB chairman was questionable, alleges SuMo

Patna,(BiharTimes): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Wednesday alleged that the very appointment of Lalkeshwar Prasad Sinha as the chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board was questionable.

Talking to the media he said rules were not followed in the appointment of Lalkeshwar Prasad Sinha as the latter did not had the required academic qualification nor was he an expert.

According to him the government did not pay any attention when irregularities were committed in 2014 and 2015 BSEB results. This year it was only due to sting operation that the truth could come out, he claimed adding that he has serious doubt that any action would be taken against Lalkeshwar and his wife and former JD(U) MLA, Usha Sinha.

Terming the recent moves as “dekhawe ki karwayee” (just a cosmetic action) he alleged that the husband-wife duo were too close to powers that be.

Even Lalkeshwar’s ‘samadhi’ Arun Kumar had the distinction of being the Vice Chancellor of two universities at a time. He had to later resign and go to jail.

SuMo is well aware of all these facts as he was the deputy chief minister of Bihar when Arun Kumar was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Magadh University, and Usha Sinha was the MLA of the then NDA partner, Janata Dal (United).

Critics now questions his silence then, as origin of all these scams in education department can be traced to the then NDA government. How can the BJP leaders wash their hands of when Usha Sinha, as an MLA, was drawing salary of principal of Ganga Devi College too when they were sharing power with Nitish Kumar? Incidentally, the finance portfolio was with Sushil Modi himself.
