Surrenders galore: But why are not these bigwigs caught by police?

Patna,(BiharTimes): In the last few months several high-profile surrender dramas have been enacted in Bihar.

Be it RJD MLA of Nawada, Raj Ballabh Yadav, Janata Dal (United) MLC, Manorama Devi, director-cum-principal of Vishun Roy College, Amit Kumar alias Bacha Rai or lesser known Laddan Mian, the alleged brain behind the murder of Siwan journalist, Rajdeo Ranjan, none could be caught by the police though there were serious charges against them.

In the case of Bacha Rai the SIT even interrogated him but then let him go free.

All of them surrendered before the police after a lot of suspense and action. Now possibly similar drama awaits as former chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board Lalkeshwar Prasad Sinha and his wife, Usha Sinha, an ex-JD(U) MLA, are on the run and may one day surrender before the police.

Today she might have been an MLA had Hilsa, the seat represented by her between 2010 and 2015, not gone to RJD in a seat-sharing arrangement before the last year Assembly election. It is now represented by Shakti Yadav of RJD.

As Bacha Rai, the former BSEB chief too was interrogated by SIT and not arrested.

Reports say that all these people surrendered after they lost all the legal options. They took this step only when they felt that if they go on running they may be in for some bigger trouble and their political masters may fully dissociate themselves and leave them in lurch.

As all of them have big ‘business’ at stake they would like to surrender then move for bail and bne back in the field.

Interestingly, some regional television channel has reported that Usha Sinha is planning to leave for England where her son lives.

Perhaps Vijay Mallya’s escape has inspired her. But what about her husband Lalkeshwar?

These ladies and gentlemen––along with Sarfraz Alam, Bima Bharati, Santosh Kushwaha, Bindi Yadav, Gopal Mandal etc––have done enough to tarnish the image of the Grand Alliance government. RJD MLA Lalit Yadav may soon join the list as there is allegation that he was behind the killing of one person.
