Each panchayat to get Rs 1.69cr for executing projects under Saat Nischay

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): State cabinet on Thursday approved Rs 16,415 crore for carrying out various schemes related to health, social welfare, planning, panchayati raj, including payment of salaries to teachers.

A sum of nearly Rs 1.69 crore would be spent on each of 8,398 panchayats over the next four years for drinking water facilities and construction of metal lanes and drains as part of chief minister Nitish Kumar's “Seven Resolves”. The cabinet approved expenditure of Rs 14,249 crore in the next four years for for the work to be executed as part of Saat Nischay (Seven Resolves).

According to Principal secretary (cabinet secretariat) Brajesh Mehrotra a sum of Rs 3021.92 crore would be spent on these rural schemes in the current financial year.

The cabinet gave its nod for reduction of registration fee and stamp duty on education and medical loans from three per cent to one per cent.

It okayed a proposal to up the monthly amount for the food, clothes, medicines etc from Rs 1,900 to Rs 3,000 for the rehabilitation of child labour.

A sum of Rs 1,121 crore was approved for payment of salary during the current financial year to 66,104 primary and middle school teachers.

A sum of Rs 24.6 crore has been sanctioned for implementation of the Mukhyamantri Naari Shakti Yojana, including expansion of women's helplines and construction of hostels for working women.

The cabinet sanctioned Rs 91.72 crore for roads, bridges, culverts, subway, approach road, causeway, guard wall and land acquisition on the 82.65-km stretch of Kawariya Route from Sultanganj to Dumma (Deoghar).

It okayed the dismissal of former Balrampur (Katihar) BDO Suresh Kumar, who was under suspension. Dr Arvind Kumar Sinha, former medical officer of Ramgarh (Kaimur) PHC, has been dismissed for unauthorised leave since December 5, 2000.

The cabinet also okayed Rs 13,415 crore to be spent on health and education for the implementation of CM's seven resolves for the current financial year. The government would open 16 nursing colleges and hostels besides 54 ANM schools and hostels in the current financial year.

The cabinet okayed Rs 285 crore for payment of salary to teachers and non-teaching employees of 1128 madrassas and nine madrassas for girls in the current financial year.
