Mahila Congress workers stage sit-in to protest against rising prices

Patna,(BiharTimes): A large number of workers of Bihar Pradesh Mahila Congress (BPMC) on Monday took to streets of Patna and staged sit-in at Gardanibagh to protest against sharp rise in the prices of essential food items, especially vegetables, tomatoes, potatoes and pulses.

Led by its state president Amita Bhushan the workers directly blamed the Narendra Modi government at the Centre for this big jump in prices of all the essential food items across the country.

According to them tomatoes are selling at the rate of Rs 50 to 60 per kg, potatoes at the rate of Rs 20 to 24, arhar dal at the rate of Rs 170 to 180 per kg and urad dal at the rate of Rs 200.

They wondered why the prices are rising when the global oil prices are coming down. They reminded Narendra Modi about his election promises made in 2014.

They said that the prices of vegetables and pulses have gone beyond the reach of even middle class, not to say of the poor.

Anita Bhushan asked Modi “is this the ‘ache din’ promised by him.
