Nitish should have raised PM’s indifference towards Munger’s Bihar School of Yoga’

Patna,(BiharTimes): Several yoga-lovers of Bihar are surprised over the way chief minister Nitish Kumar missed the opportunity to score a ‘Yoga’ goal against prime minister, Narendra Modi, on June 21.

They are of the view that there is no problem in spearheading a campaign for total prohibition all over the country. But it was not strategically appropriate to make it an issue on this occasion when special programmes were organized in at least 170 countries, as well as the United Nations.

Instead the ruling Janata Dal (United)––and even its alliance partners––should have highlighted as to how the prime minister has repeatedly overlooked the enormous contribution made by the Bihar School of Yoga, Munger.

Dignitaries and students from all over the world, including former President A P J Abdul Kalam had paid visit and glorified its contribution in the field of yoga.

It was because of this reason that after the death of Kalam over 2,000 Indian and foreign yoga lovers led by Swami Niranjananada Saraswati, head of Bihar School of Yoga, paid tributes to him after his death.

Swami then said Kalam was not only a great scientist, but also a deeply spiritual man. He had called Munger ‘City of Yoga’ during a visit. Munger residents and Bihar School of Yoga students can never forget the love and affection Kalam showered on them.

“When people of India and abroad applaud the contribution of the Bihar School of Yoga prime minister Narendra Modi tends to promote Ramdev,” a senior political observer told BiharTimes.

Bihar School of Yoga was established in 1964 by Swami Satyananda Saraswati (1923-2009). Author of 80 books it was actually he who introduced yoga in a big way to the west.

Yoga-lovers are of the view that the TV era Ramdev and other Babas do not stand anywhere near him or his spiritual disciple, Swami Niranjananada Saraswati. They never aspired to go close to politicians.
Without their efforts prime minister Modi would not have been able to campaign in favour of declaring June 21 as International Yoga Day.
