It was earlier reported that the woman was gangraped and her private organs were mutilated by the accused who inserted a pistol and wooden objects.
Additional Director General (Police Headquarters) Sunil Kumar said it was actually a case of attempt to rape. "Our investigation has revealed that the woman was not gangraped as was reported, rather an attempt was made to rape her," he said
