SuMo flays doing away with Janata Darbar by Nitish Kumar

Patna,(BiharTimes): Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday criticised chief minister Nitish Kumar for what he said doing away with weekly Janata Darbar. He charged the CM with taking this decision for pursuing his political agenda outside the state as he had already started using spare time to hold rallies and political meetings elsewhere in the country.

Talking to the media the former Bihar deputy chief minister said the people from rural areas face a lot of hardship in day-to-day affairs and their complaints are generally not heard or addressed by local officials. It is this apathy by the officials that drives the people to knock at the door of the chief minister at his weekly Janata Darbar.

According to SuMo the weekly Janata Darbar was stopped after the June 5 launch of the Public Grievance Redressal Act in Bihar.

In contrast Modi had been holding his weekly Janata Darbar at his official residence on Tuesdays even after he was sacked from the post of deputy chief minister on June 16, 2013.
