RLSP plunges into disarray as Upendra sacks state party chief Arun Kumar

Patna,(BiharTimes): Ahead of likely reshuffle in the Union cabinet the three-MP party, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, is facing acute crisis with its supremo and Union minister of state for HRD, Upendra Kushwaha, dissolving the Bihar unit and sacking its state president, Arun Kumar, who represents Jehanabad in Lok Sabha.

The sacking came a day after the Kisan Cell chief of the party in Bihar, wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging the Hawala link of his own party chief, Upendra Kushwaha.

The letter demanded a probe into this link of the Union minister.

Party insiders said that the letter was actually written to the PM at the instance of Arun Kumar.

Incensed by the letter Upendra dissolved the Bihar unit of the party and sent Arun Kumar packing.
In recent past Arun has launched scathing attacks on the party leadership.

The party has only three MPs. Apart from Arun the other two are Upendra himself and R K Sharma.

The infighting within a National Democratic Alliance constituent has certainly alarmed the biggest partner, the BJP, as it has tarnished the image of the government in Delhi. “How can a state unit leader level charge of Hawala against its own leader, who is also a Union cabinet minister,” goes the argument.

Earlier, there were reports that Upendra and Arun were to meet on June 27 to sort out the differences, but no such meeting took place.

On Thursday Upendra called a meeting of the party and took a firm decision against the state unit. None of its general secretaries or leader of the party in the Assembly, Lallan Paswan, attended it. The party has only two MLAs.
