Patna,(BiharTimes): A division bench of acting Chief Justice of Patna High Court Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari and Justice Hemant Gupta on Thursday dismissed a PIL against the Nitish Kumar government’s Badh Chala Bihar campaign launched a few months before the last year’s Assembly election.

The petitioner took the plea that it was actually an election campaign of the ruling Janata Dal (United).
The order had been reserved by the court on February 9.

Additional advocate general Lalit Kishore told the Court that this campaign was meant to just collect development-related data. The Badh Chala Bihar campaign was piloted by the state information and public relations department an dos aimed at covering 40,000 villages to elicit feedback from four crore people on how to further develop the state.

According to the petitioner, Nagrik Adhikar Manch, public money worth crores were spent on advertisements and other requirements of the campaign.
