Patna,(BiharTimes): Minister of minority affairs in the Nitish Kumar cabinet, Abdul Ghafoor, was caught on camera feasting with Mohammad Shahabuddin, who is serving a life sentence in connection with a murder case. The minister was accompanied by another MLA.
According to Zee Media report they met Sahabuddin inside Siwan jail on March 6.
When asked a defensive Abdul Ghafoor said he had only paid a courtesy call to his former colleague.
“I was in the (Siwan) circuit house and as the jail was nearby, I decided to meet Shahabuddin,” Ghafoor was quoted as saying.
Reacting to the minister’s action senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said till the time such people get patronage by the government, Bihar can never become crime-free.
