Patna,(BiharTimes): For the first time in Bihar’s history ministers and legislators of the state would collectively donate blood at a special camp to be organised at the Annexe Building of the state Assembly on April 2 during the Annual General Meeting of the Bihar Chapter of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).

According tp the Assembly Secretary Rajiv Kumar though the CPA’s AGM is held every year in the Assembly premises, this time its organising committee has decided to hold a blood donation camp besides a special session on cancer awareness at the initiatives of Speaker Vijay Kumar Choudhary.
Eminent surgeon Dr Ahmad Abdul Hai will be main speaker at the cancer awareness session.

After hearing about the blood donation camp during the proposed CPA meeting, several ministers and legislators approached the Speaker and volunteered to donate blood.

The blood collected from them would be handed over to the Blood Bank of the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). The PMCH administration would be requested to provide those blood only to poor and needy patients, said the Speaker.

All current and former MLAs and MLCs can become member of the CPA. Its Bihar Chapter has around 450 members.
