Nitish, Lalu flay BJP on AgustaWestland helicopter issue

Patna,(BiharTimes): While Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar questioned the seriousness of the Narendra Modi government on completing the probe on AgustaWestland helicopter deal RJD chief Lalu Prasad strongly defended the Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

Talking to the media after a workshop of Home (Police) department on Saturday Nitish asked why so much time is being taken in completing the inquiry into the deal? Why has the Centre not got the investigation completed so far? The Centre is not serious about completing the probe. They are only looking for excuses.

The Bihar chief minister said that the previous UPA government had said it had cancelled the deal after noticing irregularities. The deal was not executed and a probe team was constituted. Why the probe is going on for the last two years (of the NDA rule)?

On the other hand Lalu accused BJP of demoralizing Sonia Gandhi by unnecessarily dragging her name into the controversy.

Terming her a 'bhali aurat' (nice lady) who is also the 'bahu' (daughter-in-law) of the country Lalu came down heavily on the saffron party for playing dirty politics.

He also blasted Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal for demanding the arrest of a lady like Sonia Gandhi. "This is too much," Lalu told mediapersons after meeing JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar at his residence on Saturday.

Ridiculing Kejriwal’s statement made after hand-in-hand gesture with the RJD supremo on the occasion of Nitish Kumar’s oath taking ceremony on November 20 last Lalu said: “Filmi heroine tha ka ke kinch liya naath.” (Was he a filmi heroine that I pulled his hand.).

Kejriwal had then said that he did not shake hand with Lalu, but it was the latter who pulled him up.
