Youths waves black-flag in Kanhaiya’s meeting, thrashed

Patna,(BiharTimes): JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar’s programme at S K Memorial Hall on Sunday was disrupted for a few minutes when a young person sitting in the gallery waved black-flags at him almost mid-way in his speech.

This was followed by commotion and some people started assaulting the youth, who was accompanied by another person. He too met the same fate.

Kanhaiya stopped his speech and repeatedly asked the agitated crowd not to beat him. “He has every democratic right to wave black-flag…He has done wrong. But leave him…Sit down…We can not behave in the same manner…It is matter of shame,” he said adding that his very purpose was to disrupt the meeting, but do not get disturbed.

However, his pleas fell on deaf ears. He and other organizers then asked the AISF cadres to intervene.
This continued for a couple of minutes, after which the police entered the Hall to take both the youths in their custody.

Later Kanhaiya came down heavily on the BJP over the choice of its flag. “He should have waved tri-colour instead of black flag,” the JNUSU president said. But the BJP people would not wave tri-colour as they have not participated in the freedom movement. They have their own ‘Bhagwa Jhanda’ (saffron flag). They would not accept tri-colour as they do not consider three as good omen and the national flag has three colours.

Kanhaiya, who spoke for 80 minutes touched all the issues in his speech and directly accused Narendra Modi of playing into the hands of Ambani and Adani.
